Climate Action, established as a Pipal Tree initiative in 2013, is a knowledge platform for and by communities that are actively engaged in the creation of alternative practices for sustainable development in the context of climate change. Through this network, CSA aims to provide experiential learning and inspiration to communities addressing climate change.
Climate change will disproportionately affect the rural poor, urban slum dwellers, and forest, pastoral, and fishing communities. Understanding the needs of these communities and encouraging policymakers to look beyond capital- and technology-intensive solutions in addressing the crisis of climate change is a compelling moral task for our generation.
CSA wishes to draw public attention to the diverse causes of climate change, the ongoing attempts at tackling the problems (especially at the local community level), and the challenges of evolving socially inclusive strategies to adapt to climate change.
CSA will build networks among individuals and communities in South Asia to enhance peer-to-peer learning on climate change. It will –
